In 2 short months my business will have been open for 6 years!!! That is just mind blowing to me. WOW!!
People think that photography is an “easy” career to get into and easy to do. What a lot of people don’t realize is that besides photography equipment being insanely expensive, this is a very hard market to break out in. There are photographers everywhere, photographers marketing themselves on craigslist using cell phones. On my block alone there are 5 other photographers! Props add up, and I provide over 90% of the props for my clients to use for all their sessions. Creativity is a must, you can’t come to this job with nothing and expect your client to think of it all. But most importantly you have to have the heart to do this “job.” It’s exhausting, especially during busy season. House work gets left undone, children eat a lot of take out, husbands feel alone all in the name of ensuring our clients know that they are special and important to us. Which you are!!
I don’t even think of my “job” as a job because I thoroughly enjoy it that much! I LOVE meeting all the babies and children I work with. I am blessed with amazing clients, beautiful photography subjects and just an enjoyable experience at each photo-shoot.
Here is a throw back photo to when I very first started of my first newborn shoots! Oh man, I’m grateful that people kept hiring me!! I’m thankful for all the mentors out there that help provide photographers like me with knowledge to grow and improve! I am so excited to see where 2018 takes me. I have actually set business goals for myself and I plan on meeting them before the end of the year!
