This engagement session was near and dear to my heart. I typically do not photograph engagement sessions anymore as I am trying to focus on children/newborns & families. But Ericka AKA Ms. Y was my son’s kindergarten teacher so I HAD to say yes. I am so happy I did because she and Troy are just the most amazing and awesome humans!
Ericka is a developmental kindergarten teacher for 10 super great kids, one being my 6 year old. She is capable of engaging all these children daily with a HUGE smile on her face while also maintaining decorum in her classroom. Which isn’t easy when the disabilities all vary from child to child, I am floored by her.
My family has seen amazing growth with my son this past year and we owe about 75% of our thank you’s to her and her para-educators. Without them we would most likely still have a son that refuses to play with kids, had speech about 1 year behind along with other cognitive delays. But with her help along with private therapists our son is able to be in a developmental class and a mainstream classroom 2 hours a day. Which if anyone had met him when he was 3 & 4 the vast difference between then and now is incredible. I love being able to have a conversation with my son and being able to understand what he is saying.
I will miss having Ericka babysit me keep me informed about what is going on, along with all her hilarious stories.
