When I was pregnant in 2008 maternity pictures weren’t really well known to me. When I was pregnant with my youngest I imagined getting maternity pictures done but couldn’t picture myself getting in front of the camera all huge and waddling. Now, 4.5 years later I truly regret not having professional pictures done while pregnant. Thankfully I have the ones taken with my own little point & shoot, but that is nothing like finding a photographer that knows how to pose a pregnant woman and is able to edit to make her look even more beautiful than she already is. If we have any more kids I can see me booking my newborn & maternity sessions as soon as I see 2 pink lines. Having pictures of yourself and your little ones is so important. These images that are captured by myself and other photographers are then printed (I hope they are lol) and put in photo albums for these new babies to see when they get older and wonder where did they come from. These portraits are leaving behind a legacy for children everywhere, and when these kids are older there will be something to look back on and one day show their future children.
Maternity sessions are best done between 30-35 weeks pregnant and can be done in Studio or on location. I recommend scheduling your appointment in your 2nd trimester to ensure availability.
I got to photograph beautiful Carly and her 2nd baby boy this past spring. It was so great seeing her and her family again as I had photographed their first son a year and a half ago. This location happens to be a special place for them as it’s their grandmothers home. Carly was also proposed to under this tree! How sweet is that? Love the sentimental value this place and now portraits are for them.
