Planning a cake smash with my clients is so fun and a pretty big deal. I live with the notion that bigger is better and creating custom cake smashes is typically a large affair in my house arranging all the details, getting help for all the decoration assembly but most importantly finding the perfect cake. I will of course do a smaller cake if requested but I love putting together a beautiful cake that matches the theme spot on so the kids can DESTROY it. Haha. All my cake makers I work with LOVE hearing the destruction stories afterwards, it doesn’t matter that they just spent almost 2 days working on the cake. All want a huge mess & happy family when completed.
Allison chose the theme of pink & teal which I had never done before but the boldness of the colors was so exciting! I immediately started planning and creating something new and special for her daughter’s birthday. Besides having a little bit of cake and picture posing, we had a lot of baby dancing! Taylor Swift would have loved being in the audience for Allison’s daughters cake smash!! This little one LOVED Taylor’s music and had the best dance moves that I have ever seen in a 1 year old! It was amazing and made the session so fun to photograph. It reminded me of my now oldest sons obsession with music and dancing when he was little. Even now at 6 he loves to bust a move when his favorite song comes on the radio or a movie we happen to be watching.
Kids are truly so amazing!
Fall is quickly approaching and I am currently accepting bookings throughout the remainder of 2015. If you are in need of a photographer for Fall portraits or a Newborn session I highly suggest contacting me to schedule your session before slots are filled up. I currently only accept 4 newborns a month and turning someone down always makes me feel bad.
